Mina Huang, a Taiwanese writer-director, draws inspiration from her childhood for her films. Her most recent film, "HOBBY," is a heartfelt drama-comedy exploring sibling dynamics as a young girl discovers her sister drifting away. The film is currently doing festival runs.

Another film in the works, "Over This Dead Body,” delves into the complexities of friendship when two college acquaintances face a tough situation involving a deceased man. Mina’s work showcases her ability to blend drama and comedy while infusing personal experiences into her storytelling.

She is currently a development intern at Pantheon Entertainment and a literary scouting intern at Jayne Pliner Literary.

Her next project is a documentary on medieval fighting in Central Park. When not making her own projects, she works on film sets as a production sound mixer.

Logline: A young girl fears losing her sister, who is starting to move on from their shared love for horses.

Synopsis: Ivy and Jane have always gotten along—especially with their shared love for horses. However, Ivy is suddenly at a loss for what to do when her older sister Jane makes a new friend after she starts middle school. As her sister’s attention drifts from her, so do her interests, and Ivy finds her routine disrupted. Ivy must decide whether she will continue to pursue her love of horses or move on. But in her lowest moments, she discovers a new hobby.
